When I have been watching recorded TV for a while through NPVR appllication, I click the right arrow on my remote control to skip an ad. Instead NPVR jumps backwards to video I have already seen. From that point I can click the right arrow again and it will be skipping forwards in time as it should.
It looks as though NPVR thinks the point in time I am up to while watching the video is less that what it really is. The first skip takes me back to that point, also seeming to have the effect of synchronising what point in the recording I am really up to with what NPVR thinks I am up to, so subsequent skips work as expected.
What can I do about this?
System: Win 10, video renderer EVR, video decoders Microsoft, audio Lav.

The first thing that you can do about this is to attach logs to a post telling us the time that you restarted playback and the time of the first faulty skip ... Thanks ... https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/get-help

I had a pretty much the same issue several few years ago after Sub did the big rewrite on the TS demuxer.
It seemed to be related to a combination of both watching 2+ hour live TV  events (like sport) and using the Microsoft decoder. I seem to recall that simply switching to the LAV video decoder fixed the issue for me.
You could see if this works for you, might be a interesting data point alongside the logs.

gED, How do the LAV decoders compare with the Microsoft ones for picture quality and ability to recover from data errors?
I decided to use Microsoft video decoders 10+ years ago (with WMC) when it seemed they were the only ones that could cope with errors and still re-sync with the audio.

My advice is to try LAV ... The decoders are under constant development and will probably do a better job than they did 10 years ago.

That said ... the best solution is to provide Sub with logs and a sample recording (via cloud strage) that shows the skip back so that NextPVR can be updated (if necessary).

The LAV video decoder has been absolutely great for the last couple of years.
Again, I wasn't suggesting this as a "solution" just as a) a potential workaround and b) to see if the issue *was* specific to the MS decoder (I could be totally wrong)
