Hi, thanks for reading my post.

I've been using NPVR for quite a while and have amassed a large collection of recordings! Some shows don't automatically tag with the season and episode numbers - most do but some don't come with that info from the EPG it seems.

I have googled the episode titles to find out the season and episode numbers but I can't work out if it's possible to amend the tag on the recording? I did try to amend the XML that appears next to the recording file but that didn't do anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

NextPVR stores series and episode data in the database npvr.db3 ... https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/components

npvr.db3 is a SQLite database and there are several software programs that you can use to edit the database ... The usual warning applies ... backup the database before attempting any edits.

Thanks Graham! I'll give that a go. Can I use the recordings backup file in the NPVR folder in case anything goes wrong?

Just copy the npvr.db3 file before you edit ... You can delete the npvr.db3 and rename the backup to npvr.db3 if anything goes wonky.

It is actually not easy to do this since the values are in an xml structure inside a column so you need to be especially careful.

If the values are included in the description or subtitle it might be better to give sub a copy of the database and he might be able to extract them during the import.

Thanks both, I will proceed with caution! The season and episode numbers aren't included on the description which is why I have to Google the episode title! A failing on the broadcaster's part of course.
