Here in the UK, ITV (in particular) have a nasty habit of splitting a film in two with the news stuck in between the two parts. This is fine if you spot it but last week I set a recording going thinking it was the whole thing - if I'd scrolled further to the right in the on-screen TV Guide I would have spotted the second part and recorded that too.
What I'm thinking is some sort of intelligent scheduling approach that checks for the same programme title within, say, 30 or 60 mins after the first. It could then automatically record that or perhaps prompt the user as whether or not they wanted to record it. Perhaps this could be done, in particular, for where programmes are shown as category "Film" in the EPG.
