Not play FHD channels

Odd problem: On neither the webplayer or the client the FHD channels from my provider will not play. It shows it is receiving data and then when it is complete the screen is black. No video and no audio. The channels play fine on my other four players. Any ideas?

If the zipped archive is more then 2MB it will silently fail and you will need to provide an external link.

I don't know anything about how sub handles xc codes so this is for him. However the channel names I see are in an odd font (you do have to look carefully to see it)

I saw that post about the odd fonts. I did change a couple without any luck. More importantly, they all have that font and the SD and MOST HD channels are playing fine. I will wait to here about about the XC coding. Thanks for the quick reply and sorry for not including the log in first post!

Are these streams HEVC by any chance? Not quite sure FHD narrows things down enough.
Perhaps do a one minute recording and play it in the web app and NextPVR.exe or Kodi If the recording fails copy the recording and provide an external link. Martin
Sorry I did not see your post but, I did fix the problem - in a round about way.... I took the XStream url and converted it to an M3U url at m3u4u.com and asked for m3u8 outputs rather than ts outputs. That fixed the problem.
EDIT: Actually I solved the problem with the webplayer but not the client. The client crashes when I try to watch anything. I am at least one step forward though! :-) EDIT2: For the fun of it, I downloaded NLite... and the channels play fine. So on client it says "please wait" and then everything either freezes, says not responding or goes completely black with no option but to ext program. I am wondering if doing a complete uninstall and reinstall would help but, I will wait to here any ideas. Thanks!

Having played with this issue on a clean version of a Windows 10, I can tell you the issue revolves around the H.264 codec. If I disable that, the client loads fine. It shows all the guide information and the controls on the screen BUT has a black screen with a message saying I need a H.264 codec to view this channel. (There is also no audio.) If I go in and activate either the default or a LAV decoder for H.264, the client will say "please wait" and then either freeze there OR the screen will go black. There will be no controls, no picture, just a black screen with audio that comes through every so many seconds.
(On the first computer I installed NextPVR on I messed with so much that it will not load any channels and just crashes. I will deal with that by doing a clean install once we see if there is an overall solution to this problem.) The webplayer works fine with no problems and all channels play when linked to Kodi - so it is not the end of the world. The channels will all play in Nlite as well - all be it choppy and with little stability. |
