This is what assumed was going to be the problem
2020-09-19 18:22:51.463 [DEBUG][1] Unexpected error creating default recording path: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '/recordings' is denied. You need to read this https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid524823 You likely need to add a startup delay in PreStartup.sh similar to this https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid530707 the time is from your RPi logs on when eth0 comes up. It looks like your live tv buffer directory is set incorrectly. On the Settings->General page, what is your live tv buffer directory set to?
EDIT: what he said...

It will likely come down to directory permissions on the mount point for navigation. You might be able to directly type the name.
Here a helper on making a usb permanent https://pimylifeup.com/raspberry-pi-mount-usb-drive/ that is as for as I am helping with this part of linux since I am assuming you can record now and it is as no longer a NextPVR issue. Martin

Sub regarding the big file the reason that it is too big to download is the device-adapter file contains a lot of debug code
Code: 17:35:37:699 [DEBUG] table_id=0x51, service_id=6016, section_number 56, last_section_number 248

I've removed a lot of those lines for the next build.
