As a PVR, it kinds of needs to be able to depend on channels being there from one day to the next. What you're requesting has never been a big deal for our users in the past. I can only recall being asked for this type of thing a couple of times in the past

You might be served better by one of the regular IPTV viewer apps. These are often designed to not keep a channel list, and instead just query this information from the server each time they need to display it.

The channels themselves don't change. The URL is the same and so is the channel ID, and that's what a PVR uses to identify a channel rather than the channel name isn't it? The only thing that is changing with live events is the name of the channel, and that's what I need to be able to update on a regular basis. Whenever I do a M3U update manually it doesn't add or delete any channels because they're all still the same, but it does update the names which change on a daily basis for the live events. It's just a pain to remember to do it manually every day. 

As for using a IPTV viewer, I was using my M3U directly in Emby but the Emby DVR feature is extremely unreliable and recordings would always get cut short or missed completely. Emby did automatically update the channel names on a daily basis at the same time it did an EPG update, but I can't rely on it for recording.
