Hauppauge 2650 Tuner

Hi,

I have installed NextPVR v5 on a RPI 4 with Ubuntu Server 20.04 64 bit. The tuner is recognized (thru lshw) and has a driver installed. But NextPVR does not show the tuner as a recognized device? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Using lshw is not the test install. Does it show through

find /dev/dvb

If so then you need to post your logs, however we have discussed before that you may need to delay the server startup until the devices are registered with the kernel

This command does not work

find: ‘/dev/dvb’: No such file or directory

If lshw shows that the tuner is detected and an associated driver, doesn't that mean that the tuner is connected and has a driver?
Is it possible to ping the tuner to check if it is talking to the rpi?

I also have the tuner connected to ubuntu 20.04 on a pc and nextpvr starts up fine without any delay? Can I somehow restart nextpvr to see if the delay is the problem, i.e., find if the tuner will connect to the rpi before instituting a delay?

An DCR-2650 is a HDHomeRun device. If you run "hdhomerun_config discover", does it see the device?

On the pc it shows a tuner, but on the rpi4 it does not. Do I need to mount the tuner or activate the driver somehow? Has anyone successively used a hdhomerun on the rpi4 using the 64 bit ubuntu server?

It’s kind of a little different than the rest of the HDHomeRun devices, in that it has a USB interface. On windows the drivers are a simple usb network adapter drivers, then it just appears as a network device after that, the same as the rest of the HDHomeRun devices. Not sure if the Linux drivers do the same thing (they should though)

sudo usermod -a -G udev nextpvr
