Channel icons not working

After upgrading to Version: 5.0.9.201018 the web UI no longer displays custom channel icons from "/var/opt/nextpvr/media/channels"

The icons are still present but checking the location "http://192.168.1.57:8866/service?method=channel.icon&channel_id=8149" in the browser returns a http 500 error.   This apears to be only related to the web UI as Kodi is still serving up the icons with no problem.

Any idea what changed???

I am guessing Kodi is using cached icons. This isn't good

System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '/var/opt/nextpvr/media/channels/WHRO-WORLD.png' is denied.

what do you get with

ls -lt /var/opt/nextpvr/media/channels/

If you added files make sure that user nextpvr has access you might have given them root access.

You're right Martin, I see that it's a permission problem now that you point that out.

The directory "channels" is owned by "nextpvr" but all the icons are root.  I'm pretty sure it's been that way from day 1 when I set it up so apparently something changed with the latest version.  Not a bad thing, it really shouldn't be root, but I'm guessing I was lazy the day  set it up originally. 

Anyhow, when I try and chown it it asks for a password for "nextpvr"  Can you tell me what it's looking for?  It's not the administrator password for the web ui... Keep in mind I'm running it headless and accessing it via SSH.

User nextpvr doesn't have a password or home folder. You should be able to run this?

sudo chown /var/opt/nextpvr/media/channels/* nextpvr

Just to close the loop in case someone stumbles on this in the future looking for a solution.

"sudo chown -R nextpvr:nextpvr /var/opt/nextpvr/media/channels" worked for me. YMMV
