Hi

I have been using NPVR 5 happily for some months. Recently I had several recordings which were breaking up. I wondered if a retune was needed. I went into settings and rescanned channels. Then I disengaged my brain, and merged channels. (This is probably because on my old EyeTV setup I used to get a load of duplicate channels). This appeared to merge everything which was a mess. After messing about for a while and being unable to solve it, I reinstalled with the latest NPVR, remembering to copy over the updated NShared.dll that was given to me to fix a previous EPG issue. I also went to /var/root/.NPVR-data and removed the database.

I then rescanned channels and updated EPG.
Having waited over night, I find that some channels have EPG data, and some do not. Some of the basic UK channels have no EPG data, so I know they were working fully before.

Is this something you can make any suggestions for, or should I export the logs?

Regards
Paul

Each new version of NextPVR includes all of the fixes applied to previous versions ... You might have broken something if the DLL file is earlier than the version of NextPVR that you installed.

Are you downloading stable https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid522451? Perhaps you are using some old instructions when it used to be called release

Yes. That is the thread which is linked from the download page.
I did test that stable build without the updated dll I have, and it faulted in the way the updated dll was provided to fix (when downloading the EPG, it only stopped for a few seconds on each channel, the fixed dll continues to count down).

You definitely should be installing the current release, rather than some old version...and don't install an old dll on top of it. I only post test .dlls so that users can confirm fixes - the same fix will be included in the next main build.

If you're having some issue with the current release, you're best to post a description of the problem, along with the logs.

Thanks sub.

I will download and install the latest version and retest and send logs.
Will likely be tomorrow now, as I will be going out shortly.

Hi

I downloaded from http://nextpvr.com/stable/mac/NPVR.zip, with a view to testing and providing logs, however, when I start it up and access the settings through the browser, it identifies as

Version: 5.0.6.200614 and states that (5.0.9.201026 is available for download).

Can you please point me at the latest file?

That is correct. The issue is likely how you are installing it manually on the mac. Maybe you choose to install as root ie

/var/root/.NPVR-data

and when you run it or update it you aren't running root?

I was running it as root.

However, when i looked carefully, I found although I had moved the NPVR directory to trash, the terminal window then decided I wanted to be in NPVR in the trash.

I have now got it reporting as 5.0.9 - will see if my issues are cured.

Thank you.
