I have the pi connected directly to my tv. I do have kodi installed, but that seems to be taxing the pi a bit too much -- kodi's behavior is to keep a video playing, then overlays with other information, that really kills the responsiveness of the UI. But i'll take a look!
Most of the distro's don't include a h/w accelerate Kodi for the RPi would be a problem. For light client/server use LibreElec with NextPVR in docker would be a better choice. Are you using the RPi for your browser too?

Yup, will look into LibreElec - sounds like a great concept. Gotta find my Pi3 first :-) The Nice Thing about these PIs is that they're so small. The Downside is that they're so small, that if you put it away, gotta remember where you put it :-)
Rather than just on the stack of old laptops :-)
From another post in the forum, will be looking at running nextpvr on the pi4 as backend, then hook up the pi3 to the tv and run libreelec as the frontend.
The downside for me (this is my current desk) is not where it is, it is which one is it and what OS do I have if there is and SD card in it at all. I have many more devices scattered around too plus some I actually use for viewing.
Glad they are small, I just wish they used the same wall wart. That's another battle.

Nice :-)
the 'thing' at the bottom / center of the photo - is that some sort of mini keyboard, with cursor keys, and a small touchpad?
And yes, i've 'misplaced' the 3b somewhere... Probably hiding in that same place where 'the other sock' goes, when you try to find a matching pair...
Yes that is the Rii Bluetooth keyboard. I actually have been using it with Kodi on the Apple TV with NextPVR but right now number keys don't work in Kodi on AppleTV which is a bit of a pain.
