I have no idea what happened but today it recorded all the shows from one series with Spanish audio.....now the English audio is there as a second track but now I have to extract the audio and change English to the default like it is supposed to be.  Is there a setting I could have accidently changed to make this happen?

It depends - where are you watching? It always records all the audio streams. Players will often have a setting to allow you to switch between the different audio streams.

I'm in the US, and I wasn't using a player I was using Avidemux to edit and the default audio should have been English but it was Spanish.

You'll have to look for a setting in avidemux then.

NextPVR always records the entire channel that is transmitted, including the video stream, any audio streams, and any data streams etc. The player, avidemux in this case, decides which streams it wants to use. avidemux is effectively being given an exact copy of whatever the broadcaster was transmitting for this channel.

I don't think it was Avidemux because the same show recorded later in the day was in English. It might have been that Nick transmitted the wrong language as default because in MKVToolNix the Spanish showed as default in the earlier recordings but later in the day English was the default....so I just changed the default audio and saved the file.

If you want to supply a sample recording. I'm happy to take a look at what streams this channel includes. Ultimately what audio streams, and the order of them, are decided by the broadcaster.

You can put the file somewhere like onedrive, dropbox, googledrive and let me know the download link.

Thanks but I determined the audio streams and the order using MKVToolNix after I encoded them.....and corrected the error. It must have been a broadcast error.

Our provider Mediacom sometimes after a power outage in Chicago has issues re-mapping the audio and video streams to the proper channels. So sometimes an HD channel is reduced to an SD stream, and audio channels (dolby instead of simple stereo, Spanish instead of English) mixed up. The last time this happened was when the basement of Sears Tower was flooded by torrential rain... Takes a while (and a keen eye and ear!) to have that resolved with their tech supports (both Mediacom and the broadcast companies)
Pi4, wired, running Bullseye, 64 bit, latest NextPVR installed. Kodi 19.4 -- looking at Pi5 and LE on the same machine.
