Hi

I'm a complete novice at this and not very technically minded, so please bear that in mind if you hopefully reply.

Using comskip, if I drag the recorded ts file on top of either comskip.exe or postprocessing.bat files, comskip successfully identifies the commercials in the vast majority of cases.
However, NVPR does not seem to run the postprocessing.bat file automatically and I have to do it all manually. What do I need to do to get NVPR to recognise and run the bat file please (in plain language if possible please)
Thanks

The postprocessing.bat file is run under the same user account as the NextPVR Server Service  ... the "system" user account.  "Stuff" that runs under the "system" user account is running "in" different folders to the account that you logon with.

The postprocessing.bat need to specify the full path to every file ... For example ... don't say "comskip" ... do say "C:\Program Files\Blah\Blah\comskip.exe" (or whatever the correct values are on your machine).

Attach your logs to a post if you can't get it working ... https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/get-help

Hi Graham. Thanks for your quick reply. In the bat file I had the following where comskip is a folder in C Drive
@echo off
cd /d "C:\comskip"
comskip %1

If I change it to the following, are you saying that should work?
@echo off
cd /d "C:\comskip\comskip.exe"
comskip %1

The original should have worked ... Remove the "@echo off" because it might prevent NextPVR capturing messages when the bat file is running ... Record something and allow enough time after the recording for the bat file to run ... Attach logs to a post ... https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/get-help

Still no luck, Can you explain in more detail what you mean by your original reply - first paragraph. Sorry, I'm finding it a little confusing.

Try removing the "@echo off", then do a recording, then post the logs. It should contain info about what it tried to run and what happened.

It needs to be in a zip file.

Click 'preview post', then drop the zip file on the text that says "Drop files here to upload". (or click that text to select the zip file)
