In the UK several Channels split Movies in to two parts with a 15 minute program in between (I think so the ice-cream lady can sell her wares)
In version 4 NPVR (without Kodi) if I wanted to keep the movie for a while, I just used to add the second part to the first with VideoRedo, delete the second part, and all was fine.
If I do the same in Kodi with v5 NPVR addon, the timeline stays the same length as the original first part, meaning that you can not skip once you pass the end of the timeline - the movie will play to the end no problem, but with no pausing or skipping.
Is the length stored in the NPVR db, or in Kodi somewhere, and which value requires modifying? I don't mind editing the db on the odd occasion when I want to keep a movie.

It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives
