I upgraded to V5, then realised that it broke my emby set-up (runs on Roku's around the house -so as to work)

So I uninstalled it and then after fresh reboot, i reinstalled Nextpvr V4.2.4

Works like a charm on emby, but the playback is so choppy via Nextpvr that I have to go into task manager to stop the program.

It was playing tv fine this morning. Upgraded to V5 and got that working. Then downgraded to V4 and it's unplayable.

So if it plays perfectly in Emby, but is unplayable in it's own program, where do i go to troubleshoot?

I've reinstalled the program, reinstalled lav filters, reinstalled the MS DVD player.

Maybe try 4.2.5 if your setup was old you might have had some patches.

Nope tried that.
Hope someone will look at my log i attached.
Originally worked fine using just lav filters.

So today I've tried Klite codec pack
FFD Show
MS DTV DVD video encoder

But still left with basically a black screen with milisecond flashes of the picture and sound

Plays perfectly in emby and web browser.

What will fix this please?

It also records these millisecond snatches too.

If i disable the video decoder, the audio plays perfectly.

Same issue with standard (Mpeg2) def and HD (h.264)

Same issue with trying to playback ANY previously recorded .ts file using Nextpvr. However those same files playback perfectly using either the web browser or emby.

PS reinstalled twice

Personally I don't spend time looking at v4 logs anymore since it won't be getting any more updates. I would just end up repeating suggestions to try that been posted many times and it seems like you have tried those.

To understand the simplest version of the problem (i.e. without any mention of Emby and browsers) ... What happens if you record a show and then play the recording using NextPVR?

choppy playback .

So what i see on the screen appears to be what is getting recorded.

I've tried to attach a small clip

Graham's excellent question was do you see the problem in recordings as well as live TV.

If you play the recording in another player, like VLC, is it still choppy there

It'll be too big. You'll probably need to put the file somewhere like onedrive or dropbox or similiar, and let us know the download link.

So that clip plays file for me in NextPVR and VLC, giving both audio and video. Admittedly I only tried it in v5.

Your problem is likely down to the decoders you're using in NextPVR.
