Hi,

Have a problem with the windows client in that it seems to pin GPU usage at 100%, and I assume it is this making the audio and video stutter on playback.

I have tested several recordings from different channels, and all have the same issue. Bizarrely Npvr client seems to use high GpU whether it’s playing back a video or not.

I have tried playback in web client, and there it uses minimal GPU and plays back without stuttering.

Is this a know issue?

Thanks.

How much GPU is it using just sitting at the main menu, before you select anything?

It does use the GPU for rendering the UI, but it shouldn't be high.

Hi,
Here’s a screen shot of task manager running alongside the windows client showing the high GPU usage. There’s nothing playing or recording at this time, but GPU just hovers around 90-100% until I close the Npvr client.
Thanks.

Sorry, it’s not letting me add a screen shot, but it shows;

NextPVR = 50% GPU
Desktop Window Manager = 48%

I have only seen this in RDP not directly in the desktop. What is you video card? Perhaps it doesn't support EVR rendering very well.

If you've got a wireless mouse or keyboard, does unplugging it make any difference to the GPU usage?

EVR worked fine with NextPVR v4. Is v5 EVR different?

Problem only started happening after I upgraded windows to 1909 update, and NextPVR to v5.

Thanks

I can’t seem to post screen shots, is there a known issue with the forum?

Some people have trouble with their browser. jpg not png and make them small You can also try imgur and paste the link.

That all being said we believe you, screenshots won't help much logs are much better as is answering our questions.

I use a cheap Media remote with infrared adapter. Used for years on NPVR v4.

Anyway unplugged it and GPU still maxed out, so doesn’t seem to make any difference. Sad
