Can anyone help me to turn on subtitles, mainly for recording TV programmes in the UK?

I have searched the forum for an answer, and I found a thread which identified a parameter set in the Config.xml file but not sure how it should be modified. Could you explain how the config file must be edited to turn on subtitles please?

The are included in the file. You didn't specify the client or the TV source but you should be able to see them in NextPVR or Kodi. I don't think the web player currently does DVB subtitles.

Using nextpvr.exe ... Try a right-click ...Does that display a menu item ... Subtitle Stream ...?

Thanks for the replies, and yes mvallevand, I can see the subtitles when playing the .ts file in the NextPVR Video player. I can also see the subtitles in NextPVR after editing in VideoRedo and saving to a .mp4 file. However, I cannot see the subtitles in Kodi, either on my laptop running Windows 10, or on the Amazon firestick - this last option being my preferred medium for watching my video library.

I have found another source of subtitles for the latest recorded movie via a downloadable .srt file from YIFY.com, but this would have to be done for every video - which is not what I had in mind really. Maybe there is another media player app for the Amazon firestick that will allow the embedded subtitles to be displayed?

Upload a one minute sample to a cloud drive and I will have a look.

Thank you for your help gentlemen, but it seems that with your help I have identified the problem as being with my editing package rather than NextPVR. With your help, I checked the original .ts file and yes, there are subtitles which can be displayed using the VLC and Kodi media players. All my recordings have been trimmed up, adverts removed, etc., using VideoRedo and usually saved to either .MKV or .MP4 format, which strips out the subtitles. The only way of keeping the subtitles is to save the file in the original .ts format - which is the preferred option for the future.
Anyway, the help is much appreciated and deserves a donation to the NextPVR cause I think Smile
