Just wondering, is there any way to record something that isn't in the TV guide ?

e.g. you hear about a new series you want to record but its not actually going to be broadcast for maybe a month, is there any way to tell it to record, wherever it may me, Resident Alien, or whatever.

In the web app, on the Search page, you can click more options. Put 'Resident Alien' in the name field, then hit 'create recording'. This is obviously dependent on you getting the name right though.

Would it be better where it shows up in Scheduler > Recurring to have it named as 'Resident Alien' instead of 'All Channels', or is that not possible as that might not be the exact name ?

When you hit 'create recording', the popup gives you the chance to name it something meaningful. I think if you leave it on default, the recurring recording default to the channel name (or 'All Channels' in this case). Just give it the name 'Resident Alien' on that popup, and you'll see that nam in Scheduler -> Recurring.

OK, I saw that but wasn't sure if maybe NextPVR would do that by itself the first time it actually recorded it. Thanks again.

Not sure how these work with Emby, you probably will not be able to edit it but they probably can be deleted.

You may have seen this -

https://emby.media/community/index.php?/...lugin-370/

which basically says I can update in NextPVR and it'll change in Emby. True I haven't tried with this particular example, but I'm (fairly) sure I've set the padding in Emby and it showed up in NextPVR, though that was quite a while ago. But no, don't think I can edit the name in Emby.

No watching the Super Bowl missed that. I would not risk editing it in Emby, just in case.
