Decoders UK

Can someone recommend which decoders work perfectly in the UK. My channels are all from Freeview and I am using the latest release of Nextpvr version 5.

The problem I am having is that when both live TV and recorded programmes start, the audio is fine but the video lags for about 10 seconds before they both sync.
This also happens when I skip part of the recording.
Please try not to be too technical if possible.

The recommended decoders are LAV ... which you are already using for standard definition (SD) channels ... MPEG2 Video and MPEG1 Audio

You are using Microsoft decoders for high definition channels (HD) ... H.264 Video and HE-AAC Audio ...

Do you see the failure to sync on SD or HD or both? If the problem is only on HD channels ... Change to LAV for H.264 Video and HE-AAC Audio.

What happens if you watch a recording through the NextPVR Web App?

Thanks for your quick reply.

The problem is with SD primarily. With HD the lag is only 1 or 2 seconds which I'm OK with.
If I watch a recording or live TV via the Web App everything is fine - no lag at all with both SD & HD.
My preference, unfortunately, is to use the Desktop App.

My preference also ... There is this ...http://www.nextpvr.com/decoders.html ... but it adds nothing to what you are already doing.

You could try this fiddly hack ... https://matthill.me.uk/tutorials/install...ayer-free/ ... using the 32-bit version ... This will give you Microsoft dcoders for SD.

Play a recording and then post logs ... the log might show something relevant ... https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/get-help

Can't access matthill website on Firefox or Edge for some reason (authenticity of the received data could not be verified)

Will record a half hour program and post logs.

You might also check to make sure that you have the latest LAV version installed. VERY IMPORTANT: Even if you are using a 64-bit version of Windows, you MUST install the 32-bit version of LAV for NextPVR since that client uses the 32-bit interface.

I can access the matthill page okay using Firefox ...
