Hi

Moved over from TVheadend last week mainly for use with my IPTV supplier using the nextPVR addon for KODI 19.

Im amazed how is it is to setup after using TVHeadend for a couple of years i kinda got used to how complicated it is to get setup ( xmltv epg really needs some work on TVHeadend )

The only thing i cant see to do, is rename and remove channel groups. Currently im doing it via x-tream editor and then importing the resulting playlists into nextPVR, but id like to remove the 'middle man' and edit the groups in nextPVR.

Can anyone point me in the correct direction?

Thank you.

It can be difficult working with the massive channel lists your get from IPTV providers. (most of the functionality was designed for broadcast tv, where there is a lot less channels)

I'd typically start at channel import time (before saving the channels)..untick all the groups, and only import the groups you're really going to watch (like US / UK / whatever). Often this is enough to cut the channel list down to a more manageable 'couple of hundred' channels. There is no point in making life difficult for yourself and NextPVR by having 20,000 channels.

To create groups, on the Settings->Channels page you can click Advanced Tools -> Channel Groups. On the right you'll see the channels groups. If you click a group, you'll see only the channels in that group ticked. You can create a new group, give it a name, and tick the set of channels you'd like to include in the group. ie, "favorites" and tick the couple of dozen channels you frequently watch and record from.

You'll find the Settings->About page allows you to select on of these groups, and these are the channels you'll see listed on other pages.

These groups are also available in Kodi etc.
