Hello sub,

time ago, i had some problems with NPVR and my Digital-Devices Tuner Card.

Last week, the cable provider changed the channelsetup, so a new scan is mandatory to get the new frequencies/channel IDs, etc.

I now have the problem, that NPVR does not see channels on a lot of the transponders. The channel list is correct (you integrated my DVC-C Full scan for QAM256 time ago).

I did a little research, and i changed the settings for one channel in the SQL database, to a frequency, that NPVR does not recognize at all, and the channel works. So tuning to it, does not seem to be the problem......

I also tried the software from Digital Devices, the software does not have problem finding the channels, that NPVR does not recognise. So i am very sure, it is not a hardware problem, the card works correct. It is simply NPVR that does see the channels, so i cant add them. I tried all 8 tuners, they behave all the same.

Perhaps you remember the problem from about a year ago, and this is a similar problem again. Perhaps you can help me..... Would be great!

Attached you find the log files. If you look at them: I did a lot of scans, wich i quit early, because if i have seen, that on a frequency with channels nothing was found, i quit the search. The last scan, for you, was tuner number 4, full scan. For example, on 138 MHz, there should be radio and encrypted channels, on 178 MHz, there should be a lot of TV stations. nothing is found at all. These are only 2 examples, so you can look at. There are a lot of frequencies with the same behaviour.

Thanks for looking into it, Peter

All the best from Germany!

Given your description of the problem, you’d probably have to try capturing a 1 minute full transport stream from one of the problem frequencies, and I can try reproducing it here locally with my signal generator.

Install one of sub's other programs TSCapture https://www.tscapture.com/ and in demo mode you can capture one minute. The upload the file to another site like Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and provide a link

OK, thank you. Here are 2 captures from 138 MHz and 274 Mhz. As i said, these are two example channels. There are many behaving like this.

Very interesting: The Capture program also has no problem finding the channels, if i do the scan before i can capture.

Hello sub and mvallevand,

i will go on vacation in a few hours for 14 days. So i will not be able to test and report any suggested fixes or patches in that time.

I hope there will be fix, when i come back.

Looking at 274MHz I think it's related to the two channels with ampersand characters in the name "Revival - 60er & 70er" and "Fix&Foxi"

OK, i understand. Perhaps ! is also a problem on the other frequency.

The TS Capture program does not have a problem with it.

Actually it wasn't to do with the ampersand. It was to do with the LCN numbers. TSCapture is quite a bit older NextPVR technology behind the scenes, and it didn't handle those types of LCNs, so never encountered the problem condition.
