Hi! New user here, running version 5.1.2.210603 on a Raspberry Pi 3 (installed using deb file to Raspbian)

Bit new to Linux, but it's mostly working great!  However I've found that the EPG update (both manual, and the overnight one) usually (like about 4 times out of 5) seems to tie up the tuner and I need to restart the Pi for it to start playing or recording TV again.

Attaching log with typical example.

Recordings worked well all day - the last one being 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' at 12:49:01 am to 2:02:00 am
Overnight EPG Update runs at 2:44 am
Next recording (Pokemon) at 3:51 am fails with an 'operation has timed out' error.  Any subsequent recordings will fail with the same error, until I restart the Pi.

Looking at the log device-adaptor0.log, it appears there's an endless stream of 'Received XXX bytes from device so far' from starting at 2:47am, so I'm guessing the update is kicking off something that never finishes.   When I run it manually and this happens, the UI does indicate that the update had finished.

Any ideas what's happening? Tuner is a cheap generic device that I got from eBay, so I'm guessing it could be the weak link here, but thought I'd ask before I shell out for something a bit fancier.

What happens if you turn off "Keep digital tuners primed"? You will need to restart the service to make this work properly.

Oh yeah, forgot that I turned that on!  I turned it off again and did some more tests, but the problem seems to persist.

I do take back the 4/5 times failing claim.  The first EPG Update after a restart seems to complete fine, with the following appearing in the device-adapter log:

08:56:30:568 [INFO] Stopped recording (/dev/null)
08:56:30:568 [DEBUG] stopped stream 3
08:56:30:568 [DEBUG] No more streams active.
08:56:30:568 [DEBUG] Stopping device...
08:56:30:568 [DEBUG] Stopped

It's the next update that always seems to not end properly (the above 'Stopping device....' in the log never happens).

So here's the logs for another test.  After restarting, kicked off an update at 10:34, which finished at 10:40:53.

Started another at 10:42.  Takes much longer for the UI to say it's complete (the seconds countdown slows to a real crawl on this second one) at about 10:55, but the log shows it's still receiving bytes, despite Device Status saying 'No Devices Currently Active'.
