Hello, I recently updated to V5 and have had some issues with scheduling recordings.

Due to odd EPG entries ( as NCIS (3:10)) I am adding recurring recordings manually, using Keyword. Problem is these do not work, but shows as errors in the log.

Fun part was after a clean install of v5 it worked, but next day it was broke and I cannot successfully add manual recordings anymore. I assume either EPG update OR running Kodi (Matrix) as client killed it.

Logs are attached with following steps:
Cleared EPG then killed service to remove all logs. Restarted service, retrieved EPG then added two recurring recordings manually, one in the Scheduler window, and one by search for the program then adding it from there.

I hope the logs can shed some light on what I am doing wrong.

Thanks,

Torben

You didn't post your Kodi log but there was an issue with keyword recordings that was fixed in version 8.2.3 of the addon. Could you confirm that is the version you are using? You should have been notified in Kodi that the update was available.

Note there is a sub section on this forum used for Kodi related issues.

Yes, it is 8.2.3 addon used. Kodi is 19.1, build 2021-06-16. I did not include any Kodi logs as this was done through the browser. Kodi was not invoked at all (though it might have been the one breaking it)

I was trying to keep kodi out of it. That's the reason I did not post it in the other forum.

Thanks,

Torben

Ok, thanks. Did you try creating a keyword recording in Kodi? I am seeing something I don't like when you create it in the browser and the edit it in Kodi. It is odd because NextPVR web is not creating a keyword recording so Kodi might not understand what recording type it is.

I usually go through Kodi, but the same thing happened... in the beginning it picked it up, but then the next day no recurring recordings were listed. I could actually disable then re-enable the rule in kodi and it would pick it up again. That was why I decided to try doing directly in NextPVR service.
In fact the keyword recordings made in NextPVR would show up in Kodi, but as advanced recordings where keyword is "title like %NCIS%"

Yes I think there is some issue going back and forth between Kodi and the web app the recording API can use some work when it comes to determining some of these advanced types.

Just because there are no recurring recordings doesn't mean there are issue with the rule however. If you just with Kodi you should see if it work as expected and then upload logs if there are no recordings.

Edit: I would remove that recording and create a new one in Kodi though.

Could you possibly zip and attach your npvr.db3 file? I'll check the source of this error.

I agree the db looks bad right from the first reference a few days ago.

Code:
2021-06-25 13:40:00.452    [DEBUG][22]    UpdateEPG@5
2021-06-25 13:40:00.459    [ERROR][22]    Unexpected error exporting recording list:

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Gentlemen, I repeated the error going through Kodi with the same result. Logs from Kodi & nextPVR including database and a few screenshots are in the zip file.
The database messed up corresponds with the fact that it worked originally but next day it failed.

Here's the process (though I think you guys get more intel from the logs):
- Removed all recurring samples in Kodi, enabled debug then closing Kodi.
- Stopping NextPvr service to remove all logs, restarting it again.
- Starting Kodi, then adding a "Timer" in Kodi (screenshot in zip)
- Nothing was setup for recording in Kodi. Exited Kodi and went to NextPVR to see the recurring (Screenshot)
- Checked the entries in Guide for occurence (Screenshot).

One note though: I am running a script at the end of the EPG update. This strips the strange setup Danish television has "NCIS (7:12)" removing the (7:12) to allow recording of series (thanks for help on that too). (This worked fine in Vs4 & Kodi 18.9).
My original post did not have this script running, just to avoid having too much fluff to deal with.

Thanks,

Torben
