Version 0.7.2 of the Extra is on the wiki, https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/ext...-0.7.2.zip

There are no functional changes other the the inclusion of new markets, most recently Pittsburgh

Here is an update to the Locast Extra https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/ext...-0.8.0.zip. Because of changes at locast.org older version are no longer working.

As expected Locast have implemented captha security and v8.0 is no longer working.  I have not got a good solution for release but the attached might be a temporary workaround.

- unzip the attached file into your locast folder overwriting the existing LocastService.py file.
- open LocastService.py in an editor
- go to line 58
- go to your browser to locast.org and login
- go to the browser debug mode F12
- go to storage to look at the site cookies for www.locast.org
- copy the value for _member_token to the clipboard  (it is very long)
- paste the copied value carefully between the single quotes

self.current_token = 'e........'

The cookie says it is good for a  month, but we have to wait and see.

Post your experience here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=62936  I can simplify this if it works out.

Attached is a pre-release of 0.9.2 with three methods for dealing with captcha. The first (default) is using a new client key identified by locast2plex, the second uses actual Google recaptcha technology and if that one fails, the fall back will be using the key from the browser via locast.ini

Please provide feedback via the original thread on this problem https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=62936

I copied the taken from the browser and it worked. I then installed the 0.9.2 prerelease and it also worked.

I have discovered that I don't get 1 channel that I get using the locast app. It's channel 65.5, KKPX Laff TV. I'm in service area 807 (San Francisco).

Thanks for all your hard work. Its greatly appreciated!

I received developer approval for this Extra from Locast.org which should allow for longer term use. I have updated the NextPVR wiki with the file locast-0.9.4.zip with this change https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/Extra-Locast

For user having trouble updating in Windows 10 I suggest using the Windows CLI version of tar. Here are the steps from a command window.

cd C:\User\Public\NPVR-data\scripts
tar -xf pathto\locast-0.9.4.zip

Please post all comments in the Extra forum not in the announcements.

Well sadly I just read this on their web site

Quote:We are suspending operations, effective immediately.
As a non-profit, Locast was designed from the very beginning to operate in accordance with the strict letter of the law, but in response to the court’s recent rulings, with which we respectfully disagree, we are hereby suspending operations, effective immediately.

It was fun while it was lasted but make sure you cancel your PayPal until the suspension is lifted.
