Hi,

Not sure if this is a bug or just something with my setup, but whenever I make a change to my IPTV m3u, and go into devices to do a channel update, all channels with EGP source set to XMLTV are reset to none. The mapping for the channels I have setup with Schedules Direct are remembered and not reset.

It appears like you have configured your EPG to download to /mnt/media which implies that your script that creates it is not working. If you have an update sh file make sure that it is marked +x. I didn't see an EPG update in those logs. If you change the link between the EPG and m3u file you may also need to rescan.

I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing. My .xml file containing the xmltv data in /mnt/media/ updates just fine.
The issue is if I i.e. add a new channel in my iptv m3u file. Then I must go to settings -> devices -> click on the correct source -> click update channels.
When the channels are updated, and I go to settings -> channels I see the list of channels I have and their EPG source. This is where the issue is. All channels I had mapped to use Schedules Direct are still mapped correctly like they were. All channels mapped to XMLTV now have lost its mapping, and source has been set to None. So I have to map them up again manually each time.

An example from the log. TV2 Sport 1 is set to use XMLTV as source, TV2 Sport 2 is set to use Schedules Direct as source.
All channels I have set to use Schedules Direct have the same message about not updating EPG mapping. So it looks like it tries to update EPG mapping on the channels with XMLTV as source, and is not successful for some reason, and then defaults to no EPG source.

Code:
2021-09-09 11:32:05.375    [DEBUG][19]    Downloading m3u /mnt/media/.../LiveTV.m3u?....
2021-09-09 11:32:05.381    [DEBUG][19]    Loaded m3u
|
2021-09-09 11:32:05.384    [DEBUG][19]    Existing channel: TV2 Sport 1
2021-09-09 11:32:05.384    [DEBUG][19]    Existing channel: TV2 Sport 2 (not updating EPG mapping)

As I said if you update a m3u and the link to the EPG is no longer consistent then you need to remap the EPG and hopefully automap will work.

But if I only add one new channel, then shouldn't all the existing channels that haven't been changed keep their mapping?

From memory, it will try to update any existing m3u/xml channel epg mappings during an update epg, in case the IPTV source had changed channel id etc. This behaviour was meant as a way for users to be able to fix their channel mappings if the IPTV provider had broken them by changing stuff (which does happen from time to time).

This doesn't explain why yours are being reset to none though, unless maybe the current m3u/xml isn't providing xml mappings?

Its a strange one. My m3u do have mapping, and if I do a manual auto mapping, then all channels are mapped correctly. It doesn't matter if I chose channel name or numbers and identifiers as mapping strategy, It will map correctly either way. However, the manual auto mapper will map all channels, so the once that are setup with Shedules Direct will also remap to xmltv when doing that.

Automapping is stupid when it comes to managing multiple source. If you import your m3u file twice and use one for the SD channels and one for the XMLTV sourced channels does that work better?

It was a good thought, but it didn't make much difference. Once both files were imported the next time I would update one of them, it tried to update EPG on all channels, not just for that source.
But I'm not so sure my mappings in the m3u file are correct anymore. Because I haven't specified there whether it is xmltv or schedules direct, so how will NextPVR know which EPG source to chose.
When I do a manual auto map then I have to select EPG source first, and then it works as it will match the tvg-id tag.
So I think the question now is how can I specify int the tvg-id tag that the source is xmltv, or that it is SD, and also which SD linup it is (as I have more than one lineup.
