Morning all.

My instance of NextPVR seems to utilise anywhere from 30-50% of my GPU constantly whilst watching live TV but hardly touches it when watching recordings.
It also seems to do the same when sat on the guide page (albeit not quite as high) with an increase in CPU utilisation too, at anywhere from 5-15% constantly, as you can see in the screenshot. I'm running it at 1920x1080, fullscreen, 16:9, TV Viewer with the default skin etc. No customisation basically.

My current build is as follows:
Windows 10 Pro x64
NPVR 5.2.0 (210912)
Intel i7-3770K
Nvidia GTX 970
16GB RAM

The problem has followed me across a graphics card update from a GTX460 to the current build as well as an NPVR upgrade to the current also.
I've attached screenshots of my system monitor for all three scenarios. I've tried selecting the alternative decoders, installing a codec pack and have tried to install the D3D pack you suggested in another thread (found at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/de...laylang=en) which fails, suggesting that it has something newer already in place.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm a recent convert from MCE and am loving this app.
Many thanks in advance.

You didn't attach a screenshot (although probably not necessary since we believe you) or more importantly the zipped logs. For the playback issue I would try different decoder, ensure your use the EVR renderer and default sound device. The logs would have told use what you use. Note I am not aware of what the TV Viewer might do differently.

I'm seeing something similar here since updating NPVR this morning.  Just sitting at the menu screen, task manager shows the GPU running at around 36%, plus the CPU is at 26%.  They both drop to zero for a few seconds, then jump back up again.  This keeps repeating.

I've also noticed that when I play a recording, the icon for LAV Audio Filter shows up 3 times now in the taskbar notification area.  It is also taking a few seconds for audio to sync properly at the beginning of a video and after every comskip jump.

Logs attached.

Thanks for the replies chaps, and apologies for the fail re: the attachments - was my first ever post on here.
I also see the increased GPU and CPU utilisation at the menu screen but annoyingly, shortly after I posted, I noticed that (contradicting what I stated previously) I do still also see the increased GPU usage when watching recordings too. If you let me know where I need to go for the logs or anything else I can provide which may assist with troubleshooting, I'll get it posted. I've attached a screenshot (hopefully) of my current renderer and decoder settings.
Thanks again,

Can you let me know if this updated file helps, at least with GPU usage while sitting at the menu screens?

You'll need to replace the one in the main NextPVR directory, and the client directory.

Hi sub, I replaced the NextPVRUI.dll in the C:\Program Files\NextPVR folder and in the C:\Program Files\NextPVR\client folder and then rebooted the system.  CPU use has dropped from 26% to 5%.  GPU use by NPVR went up from 36% to 45%.  The only thing onscreen is the Recordings menu (and of course, Task Manager).

Logs attached.

Does this make a difference?

I put that in the client folder, and kept the patched UI .dll's that you posted earlier.  That kicked the CPU back to bouncing between 0 and 25%, while the GPU is now bouncing as high as 52%.  It only goes to zero once the screen saver kicks in, then it bounces briefly to 2% when the onscreen icon moves.

Can you post a screenshot of the graph of usage over a minute or so? Just leave it sitting at menu

I just checked, and after the system has been on for about 2 hours, and we just watched a one hour recording, the bouncing up and down is gone.  CPU is at 25% and GPU is at 45% constantly.  ???
