autodelete of recording

i have been having an issue with recordings auto deleting if I stop them while watching. I've had this issue ever since I swithched to version 5 but since I don't record often I've hoped new updates would solve it but that has not been the case. I just was watching the nascar race and when I stopped the recording it was gone.

There is nothing that should auto delete a recording. There is a prompt to ask if you'd like to delete if you want a file at the end of playback. You're not maybe hitting ok or something to accept that?

What is <PromptForDeleteAfterPlayback> set to in your config.xml? Try setting it to false.

Promptfordelete was set to true, I've changed it to false now. I was not at the end of the recordings just wanted to stop at that time and watch the rest later. I never get a prompt asking if I want to delete the recordings when it happens they are just gone.

If you are asking me, yes I want that changed. I record very infrequently and have plenty of harddrive space available if I forget to delete a recording or 2. I don't always have time to watch a race until the end and having them delete themselves is frustrating.

Just to be clear the meaning of that setting - if you have <PromptForDeleteAfterPlayback> set to false, then nothing happens at the end of playback. If you have <PromptForDeleteAfterPlayback> set to true, and the user plays with 20 seconds of the end of the file, then it'll show a popup asking if the user if they'd like to delete the recording. (to which they have to click OK for it to happen)

I'm not sure why that would be, and I'm not seeing any other reports of this happening, but see if that setting helps.

I was commenting on the OP saying he changed Promptfordelete  that's a dangerous one.
