This Hauppauge 850 and nextpvr works fine on my older HP core 2 duo. No matter what decoders I use, everything is choppy on my faster HP I7. It's not a bad signal. I tried LAV, ffdshwow and Microsoft dtv-dtv with many combinations and it's still choppy. I unplugged all the usb devices and tried every port and still the same thing. I know my usb is fine since I tested it with my Airspy R2 sdr which works at the full 10msps.  I tried using MediaPortal and it does the same thing. So it's something to do with the decoders/codecs or maybe the two different Windows 10 OS builds I have. I'm at a loss.

Here's the ts file - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1INZ8Voh...sp=sharing

Here's the logs - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Rfrtec2...sp=sharing

It's not a playback problem it is a recording problem, so why do you say it is not signal?

Because I can plug it in my other computer and works fine. It's split off the main antenna in this room which goes to my TV. I tried both ports and still the same thing. The TV works fine with box coax lines and so does the wintv on the old computer. I deal with antennas a lot listening to my software defined radios and have quadrupled checked everything.

The ts file is full of continuity and TEI errors, which is basically telling us the signal was corrupt by the time it was delivered from the tuner. The TEI header flags are set by the tuner as it receives the packets, to tell the down stream components (NextPVR in this case) that these packets are damaged. The continuity errors tell us there is whole packets missing.

So, for whatever reason, your reception is crappy the way you currently have it hooked up.

TV's often have much better tuner this small USB stick tuners. If literally the same tuner plugged into the another PC, using all the same cables and antenna splits does not have the issue (on the same TV channel), then it could be something to do with the way the Hauppauge drivers are configuring the tuner at those two PCs. ie, you might find NextPVR is fine on your PC with WinTV installed.

No the reception is fine. I even hooked it up directly and tried on both computers with the same result. Both of them are using the same LAV versions and Hauppauge driver. There's something weird going in Windows with the drivers/codecs or something. I have a habit of having weird problems that nobody else has. This had been happening since 1993 LOL.

As sub said try the latest WinTV with drivers and see if that helps that's the only suggestion I have.

I should point out that you are having some trouble with this device, so the installation is not perfect.

We know the data is coming from the tuner with the errors already in the stream, so it's either signal or the drivers for the device. If you're sure it's not signal/cable/connectors/splitters, then focus on drivers.

Ok I bought wintv and it's still doing the same thing. I'm back on my older machine and updated nextpvr which i shouldn't because it's showing an unhandled exception error when I open the desktop app. I uninstalled nextpvr and removed everything to see if that would work but it's still doing it. It's big red X across the app and this is what is says in the error box. Is there anyway to downgrade? Like I said, it was working great before I upgraded...Thanks!

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
