I've tried reading through the forums in search of help but I haven't come across anything to get me up and running yet.  For starters, I have a windows 7 machine with Ceton Infiniti 4 PCIe which works great in WMC.  I've been considering upgrading to Windows 10/11 for a long time but afraid I will never get my TV tuner to work after the upgrade.  I have read a lot of great things about NextPVR combined with Kodi in Windows 10.  I'm trying to test it in Windows 7 first before going through the headache of upgrading to Windows 10.  I've read that Ceton cards can be a pain to work with but I have never had any issues with WMC which is part of my hesitation to upgrade.

I installed NextPVR v5.x and initially could not see my Ceton in the device list.  I used the CetonProxy program which did allow me to view all 4 tuners as HDHomeRun devices and it accurately downloaded channel guide from Schedules Direct.  I can see the TV guide come up but I am unable to watch live TV or record TV.  When I try to watch live TV I get the error message "streaming failed (transcoder exited)".  When I try to record something I get the error message "No errors, but no data delivered. This is usually because the device failed to lock a signal."  I do have my Ceton device currently hooked up with WMC so I'm wondering if that is causing a conflict of some sort?  I'm very new to NextPVR so I could be missing something else as well.  I can try to update log files but I'm not sure which ones to upload.  I appreciate any help or advice you can offer.  Should I just stick with Windows 7 and Ceton forever since I love how the Ceton works and records 4 channels seemlessly and I love how WMC is setup?  Should I trash the Ceton and get another device that is easier to work with in the future and if so what is the best device to record multiple channels?

Unfortunately having a Ceton device won't make life easy for you. In NextPVR v4 we used to support these devices natively, but support for them was dropped in v5 (which was a large write of the application, to make it cross platform and modernise it, and there was only a very small number of Ceton users...which didn't just the effort required to support this somewhat oddball tuner that worked different to all the others).

CetonProxy is probably your best chance to get it working. It is supposed to make the Ceton device appear as an HDHomeRun. It's not entirely clear to me how this works though, and whether you need to also install https://download.silicondust.com/hdhomer...indows.exe, so that HDHomeRun_Config.exe is available. This is required for older legacy HDHR devices, and it's possible this CetonProxy makes it appear as a legacy device.

You logs might give us a clue.

If you can't get this proxy working, and look at buying a new device, the HDHomeRun devices are a good choice, and well supported by most applications (including NextPVR).

Do you think if I tried reverting back to v4 then I would be able to get it working with the Ceton?  Which logs would help you out?  I can try sending them.  I'll look into the HDHomeRun if none of this works.  Thanks for the tips and suggestions!

I installed the file you linked for the HDHomeRun and now it says "failed to start requested stream" when I try to watch live and when I try to record it says "no tuner is available at the selected time".

Use the ‘log files’ on Settings->about button to collect the logs and post them.

Yes, potentially - but keep in mind v4 was a long time ago now, and no longer supported, so if you have problems with v4 you're probably on your own.

Not just support. There are already Android and Roku clients that don't work with V4 and Kodi V20 drops support too.

I would just be using my TV tuner with NextPVR by itself or possibly combined with Kodi.  I have no need for Android, Roku, etc.  Here are the log files.

Just curious, have you tried rebooting since installing the Ceton Proxy? (there is a scenario I see in your logs, which can sometimes happen by hitting the 'scan for new devices' button, and it needs to restart to correct)

Ok I just wanted to make you aware that in the next Kodi release you won't be able to use v4 anymore. Honestly if you want to use v4 that is as much of a dead end as WMC.
