Noticed two issues with latest release.  First, sluggishness navigating.  Watch show, end, delete.  Ten want to navigate via arrows, but get no reaction.  Clicking on menu eventually gets response.

Second issue, start a show or live view and sometimes screen is "dim" for a few seconds.

Anyone else experiencing either issue?

Don't know if these are "fresh" enough.  Issue happened yesterday before I posted, logs are from this morning.  I will track both issues, and when either happens again grab log files immediately.

Are you using nextpvr.exe or nlite.exe when you notice this?

If nextpvr.exe, does it make any difference if you press Alt-Y (select subtitle stream) and select Disabled?

I am using nextpvr.exe.

We have subtitles enabled as the norm.  So, anytime I open a saved program, I need to disable them if I don't want them.  Therefore, every "dim" screen would be with subtitles on, even if they haven't yet shown up.

We turn subtitles off for shows like news and such, putting them on for our normal TV watching.

The sluggishness is mostly noticeable after stopping a viewing, then trying to navigate the menus, therefore subtitles shouldn't be the cause, right? I tested to see if the remote and the keyboard behave the same, and they do.

Your logs are full of messages about closed captions, so I'm wanting to determine if these are the cause of your sluggishness.

Interesting.

Those would be during the recording of the NBC Evening News.

You've never made that comment before, and we've always had them turned on, nothing changed for this release.

Would it be helpful to upload older logs for a comparison?

I don't know for sure this is your problem yet. It seems a likely candidate though. You'll need to experiment with them on vs off to see if that is what is causing your issue.

I was thinking they were on by default, but it appears that's not an option in the config file.

Given that it issues during the news, in which we don't use subtitles, I think it's not that.

Subtitles keeps the last setting (on/off), so that's why it's on when we start most programs.

I just played around, and when you're watching a show, ESC takes you out and takes you to the show info, but further hits on ESC don't do anything, and I believe they used to. But get out of that screen to the screen where all the shows are, and ESC takes you back to the menu.

So the sluggishness I referred to seems to be a disabling of ESC on that intermediate screen, and no easy way to get out further in the menu structure from that point, vs. a bogging down of the program.

Could a recent change have done that?

I can go to menu, using the keyboard, and click on it, and that brings up the full listing of shows, but takes another hit on Menu to get to the side menu. And, from the full listing of shows screen, ESC works fine.
