Hi All!

I setup a Ubuntu 20.4 instance with a single tuner card. I can scan channels and tune into various stations but am not able to get the epg data to populate.

I did some searching and think i might have a permissions issue, I opened up the perms for the nextpvr user account on /opt/nextpvr and restarted but still no data.
I also made sure the live buffer and default record paths were valid and able to be accessed by the nextpvr user account.

Questions -
- From what i have seen this data should be saved in epg.xml? can someone tell me where this file should live on Linux so i can double check permissions?
- I have an active SD account, I added the login info and saved but still no data.. i think this is due to the first issue
- I read somewhere that OTA epg data is not supported on linux, is this still the case?

The ATSC OTA guide is onlyu supported Windows. The data is terrible for PVR anyway.

That is incorrect. There is no epg.xml created by nextpvr. Any listing data is stored in the npvr.db3 sqlite database file.

On the Settings->Channels page, what 'epg source' is listed next to each channel? I'm guessing it's not Schedules Direct, and you can correct the issue by clicking Advanced Tools -> Automap, then select your tuner, and your Schedules Direct lineup.

The DVB OTA EPG (used in most countries outside North America) is supported.

ATSC OTA EPG is not supported on linux. The OTA EPG in USA/Canada is terrible - it didn't seem worth the time to implement support for it on Linux.

Thank you for the help, I was able to link the channels to SD and am seeing guide data now.

Another question
I have been using the http live stream feature alot.
When you are viewing a station you can click at the bottom to get the streaming URL.

Is there a method to dump all the streaming URL's that are currently available in an instance?

Ok I thought the question was somehow related to this thread since exporting EPG data is not supported You probably can use this http://ip:8866/service?method=channel.m3u

The URL's aren't browser friendly so your media server may need to transcode them.

You will get an m3u list, but you need to turn off unauthenticated access on Settings->Access page
