Is there a way to change the default Recording Type when using the Advanced tab to set up a recording?
Now it comes up as Record Series (All Episodes).
I couldn't find a way looking at the config file.

You didn't specify the client or the type you'd prefer. There is a setting

<DefaultRecurringToOnlyNew>true</DefaultRecurringToOnlyNew>

but that is for the Series Recording default on the web server client the advanced setting.

I'm using the web server client and I want the default to be Record Once.

The Record Once tab that's already there will not let me select the specific directory I want to record to.

It's not currently possible. (without editing an html file)

If you're preferring it to always record to another specific directory (and the same for all recordings), you can make that the default recording directory in the Setting page.

I don't always record to the same directory; there are 3 different ones I record to.
I was hoping for something similar to what I currently use in V4; I can choose the recording type and directory for each recording.

Don't you find it trivial to change it via the web server for the 2 that aren't as common? I would never use the default, either and I would never think to ask sub to change it.

I never said there were 2 that aren't common; I use all 3 quite often.
As for asking sub to change it, I never did that either.
I simply wanted to know if there was a way for me to configure it like I do for V4.

Once before you offered to remove/block any of my posts from your view.
I wish you would do that now.
I'm getting weary of your negative responses.

In advanced-record-modals, you'd need to change:

$('#advancedType').val(2);

to

$('#advancedType').val(0);

Be warned though, that change is going to be overwritten each time you update the software.

This is kind of in the category of "not really worth adding options for every weird thing someone might ask for". You're the only person that has ever asked about it.

See my reply above. Yes, it's something you can change.
