Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-950 - Analog FM Radio No sound

Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-950 I followed the SoftPVR instructions for NextPVR and the device showed up as analog in the settings. I added a couple of FM Stations But when I play them there is no sound. The log file is attached. Any ideas?

Ahhh. Thank you. I did not see that. I will buy a WinTV-HVR-955Q. I believe it supports FM.

Remember the point that even though it might support FM, it doesn't mean it will be good quality.

Probably, but FM optimization isn't a high priority for vendors, I am sure they even manufacture them anymore. It is not just receiving a frequency so much as the software for advanced signal processing, low pass filters, AGC etc that you might get as part of a "radio". I also find their SNR is really bad, I really have to struggle to listen to many stations on the three different tuners I have by adjusting the FM antenna just so. These aren't plug and play like radios in a car.

Are online streams available for your stations? You can probably integrate these (with v5)

Ahh I see. This is actually for a PC that is used as a head unit in an RV. Its a mini PC that is hooked to a touchscreen. KODI is used most of the time for its easy touch interface. I will have to use nextpvr v5 to use the kodi addon. I worked through the analog fm for nextpvr v5 thread but couldn't get it to work because the 950 doesn't support FM. I guess ill try the 955q, If the reception or quality is too bad I may tie in a normal car radio. Internet radio will be an option so I'm not sure how important FM will actually be.

Ok I saw your post on the Kodi forum. Couldn't you simply listen to the car radio directly when needed?
You also mentioned there wanting ATSC support (I assume while parked) and you might need two antennas for the signal. I know the HVR 1950 has analog and digital antenna inputs but it is not USB Martin |
