Hi all

As I've been running GB-PVR and NextPVR for so many years I've had many drives for recordings over the years. I've had a few issues over the years including a HDD that kept randomly going to sleep and at some point somehow managing to corrupt the database.

Over the weekend I moved all these files to a drive on my NAS and in doing this realised that I have quite a few recordings that are not showing in the recordings database but the files are present.

I'm wanting to run a script to basically give me a list of all of these files and match them up with the database and show me the discrepancies. I don't need to import all these files (I appear to maybe have 60+ nights of 6pm news from over the years that I really don't need!) so I'm happy to manually delete those that I don't want.

Is there then a way to import the files I do want so they'll map to the correct recording name in the database? I saw another post on here from a few years back that refers to a script there was no link to it that I could fine. Looking on these forums I see nextimport exists - but I'm not sure if that can be run on the existing recordings folder to do what I want.

Not sure what you want to do but NextTool (new version of NextIimport) will write a text file NextTool.txe in the NextPVR user folder of all the files it might import.

NextTool --debug folder

I don't think it logs files in the database but I can't remember. This function is mainly for testing the filename parsing logic. It can get the S/E title and title and movie year if available from the filename, and it reads old GBPVR naming too. It also reads the XML external metadata if you enabled that and potentially the ADS metadata but since you moved files to a share you probably lost that.
