I've been struggling with this one for a while now.

When I try to play recordings before early December last year I get an error.

I'm attaching part of the kodi.log where the first item gets the error but the second doesn't.

The nextpvr client plays them fine.

I am running NextPVR v5 and Kodi 19.4 on my laptop

Logs must be zipped and under 2MB. For Kodi I also need Kodi debug logs. You can use the Kodi log uploader and send the URL to the logs if you want.

Did you import those recordings or did they just stop playing?

Some of the files would have been imports but I checked the paths in the database and it all looks ok.

I've used the log uploader

Those logs didn't show a recording playback attempt. Imports need to have a correct duration for Kodi not just filename. How did you import them?

It's been a while now but I think I used NextImport.exe

I didn't know about the duration thing, maybe I should try again and check the duration times in the database?

There is no duration field but try http://10.99.59.20:8866/service?method=r...lter=ready and see the duration there. There was an issue with NextImport that I did fix a year ago when I realized that Kodi needed a real duration.

You were right, I've just noticed the duration is missing in Kodi for the files that won't play.

What's the best way to fix this, is there an option for nextimport to overwrite existing records or do I just need to delete the offending records from the database and import again?

First NextImport has been replaced with NextTool. It is specifically designed not to waste time importing existing files globally but maybe you could try

NextTool --file filename

and see if it works for one file. I am not sure if I block this type too.

Personally I'd be inclined to delete the recordings from npvr.db3 if it can be done easily.

Sorted!

I tried NextTool but it just said the file already exists in the database.

So I opened the database in SQLite Personal Edition and ran this query:

SELECT * from SCHEDULED_RECORDING where start_time = end_time

Then I just selected all the rows and deleted.

Finally I ran NextTool --import on the affected folders and all is working!

Thanks Martin.l
