I'm hoping this is the right section. I'm trying to install the addon skin NextBlue Setup_v2_05 to NextPVR 5.2.7 (220410) on a Windows x64 system. The setup.exe fails with Error DataDirectory

NPVR is installed at:
DataDirectory Registry Error
Completed

I've tried extracting the contents of the setup.exe file and copying the NextBlue skin folder into the Program Files\ NextPVR\data\skin however this locks up NextPVR, probably due to the missing unregistered dll files in the $PLUGINSDIR (inside the NextBlue setup.exe). Can this skin still be used? And if so how do I correctly install it? All of the NextBlue forums seem to either be nonexistent anymore, or have posts from 2015. I would appreciate any help at all with this.

Thanks.

I manually extracted the file since the installer isn't compatible with the current version and there would need to be some work done to fix it.  Notably the Windows fonts typefaces need to be converted to supplied fonts  and relative locations need to be Linux aware.  Changing all the font to DroidSans and including the 2 ttf files will at least get you going should you want to convert it.

I appreciate your quick response, but I'm a little confused (heck, a lot confused). I'd like to try to do the modifications to manually install this, however I would need some step by step instructions. This might end up being time consuming for you, so if you're not interested, just say so and I will try something else.

OK, that aside:
I installed the fonts supplied by the NextBlue skin (segmcr.ttf, segmcsb.ttf, nina.ttf, ninab.ttf) into Windows, but I don't know what you mean by "typefaces need to be converted to supplied fonts" or changing the fonts to DroidSans.  Also this is Windows 7x64 and has no Linux subsystem, so I don't understand about making locations Linux aware.

Thanks again,
Randy

Thanks for asking since I am not interested in going any further on this. For me it was more proof of concept to show that v5 and v4 are pretty close and anyone interested skinning can create them.

For reference I am opened the exe with 7zfm and the NextBlue folder was there I then installed this to the data/skin folder. In Global.xml I changed Tahoma to DroidSans (you'd have to find a match if you want it perfect) I also did this.

copy segmcr.ttf "Segoe Media Center.ttf"
copy segmcsb.ttf "Segoe Media Center-bold.ttf"

There are missing skin file that would need to be created though so it doesn't work.

For linux you mainly need to make sure the file use the proper case, I think sub handles the \ vs / folder naming.

Well, that didn't work. NextPVR is still crashing hard, so I'll modify the Default skin instead. It's too bad the NextBlue extension was never updated as it looks very nice. Thanks again for your help.

Don't modify Default copy it.

If you don't want to crash (I might have done some other things) use the file in this zip instead of the NextBlue Global.xml  after copying in the tye DroidSans files from Default.

Sorry, I was being a bit brief. I copied and renamed the Default skin. The copy is what I am modifying.

EDIT: The Global.xml you provided does indeed work!!
