Good Streaming, Poor Recordings

I use NextPVR on a windows laptop with dual Hauppauge tuner. When I stream a channel it plays fine over my network both in a browser and via Kodi. But if I record the same channel, when I try to play back directly or download first, the quality is bad. The picture and sound breakup badly as if I have a poor aerial signal. So why is streaming ok but recordings terrible?

With dual tuners recordings would use tuner 1 and live tv would use tuner 2. You could have device issues. Your zipped logs would provide use with more details.

There is no explanation in the logs, can you update you 50MB sample to web storage for a recording like OneDrive or Google Drive and provide a link? There is a utility on the wiki called cutchunk that can help you https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/CutChunk

That certainly is terrible, but again no real explanation. If you edit config.xml and change this to false

I have applied this setting an the recording and streaming seem good now. Will try tonight as have a few programs scheduled to record, lets see if its a permanent fix, thanks.

Changing that shouldn't have changed the recording tuner, you might have had a temporary driver problem or intermittent reception problem.

Ok so that did NOT fix the problem. But here is the next issue. If I use WINTV 10, it works fine when recording.

That doesn't really provide any additional information since Live TV works.

If you change your recording folder to your C: drive do things improve?
