I was messing around with my network the other day.  Everything seems to be stable except for IPTV functionality in NPVR.

For example, I just tried to import channels from an M3U file from the web UI and I received a "Failed to download channel list: The operation has timed out." message.  I can issue a curl in a CLI with the same url and it works.  All other network/internet functionality seems to work from the box just fine.  Tuned antenna streams work great also.  Rebooting doesn't seem to help.

Attached are the logs from the import attempt.  I feel like NextPRV is caching something or keeping something around from the old network config that is no longer working.

Any ideas?

Thanks, John

How long did it take to download from that url with curl?

Approximately how many streams are in it?

only one stream, and it takes less than a second to download

I tried creating a test on the box taking NextPVR out of the equation and running the m3u8 stream within the m3u file in ffmpeg.  There was no lag.

Code:
ffmpeg -i https://buzzrota-web.amagi.tv/playlist480.m3u8 test.ts

Then I opened test.ts in vlc.  It seems to work.  I'm not sure if this is a good test, but it seems to indicate that I might need to reset something in NextPVR?

The issue isn't the m3u8 file though, it is the m3u file that seemed to be hosted on a site that may no longer works.  The one on github iptv.org us.m3u would probably work but those URL's are so temporary I hate discussing them they are a support nightmare.

I'd suggest creating a local m3u for for Buzzr if it is important to you.

The issue is actually getting any IPTV stream to work through NextPVR. Everything was working great before I started messing with my internal network.

If there is a test stream I can try to import into NextPVR to isolate my issue, or if there is a way I can clear the NextPVR database of all the existing IPTV streams and start over, I'd be willing to. What's really odd is that all seems to be working outside NextPVR.

I would say wait for 6.0.1 and get ATSC working again, you are getting a lot of failures there and the logs are a mess (not your fault)

You could have screwed up PlutoTV or it stopped working that isn't IPTV but you'd have to treat that as a different problem assuming it works with streamlink.

Buzzr should be working from a good source though so after 6.0.1 and you have clean logs we can look at it. I do hate dealing with github URL's they can be a support nightmare.

OK I think I can take NextPVR out of the equation.

I tried to run a streamlink command from the CLI as the nextpvr user (actually any user), and it took almost 3 minutes to return a stream -- but it did return a stream. So I am convinced that there is some kind of network misconfiguration on the box. The weird thing is that similar ffmpeg raw streaming commands do not lag / timeout -- so it's something with Python or a component that is installed with streamlink. I tried uninstalling / reinstalling streamlink which did not solve anything. I also tried flushing the DNS cache and similar network troubleshooting steps. nothing seems to work for me.

So, I will welcome any Linux network expert suggestions to try to get streamlink (and ultimately IPTV streams) to work again on this box. Thanks in advance.

Pluto TV with streamlink is not IPTV so there is no reason to link the problems.

Martin.
