I have been reading all the posts regarding comskip, and for some reason I can not get it to work for me. I have copied the (3) required files to the correct folder, but nothing happens after the recordings are done.

I do not have the Postprocessing.bat file in this folder, which I've seen talked about in many of the prior posts.

I have tried to run the .exe file on its own, but it closes just after I open it.

I don't know what is wrong. From all the posts I've read, it should be very straight forward.

Let me know if I am missing something.

Thanks

Is there any messages in gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log at the time a recording was due to finish?

I don't have this file in my \devnz folder, or anywhere on my harddrive. Where should this file be?

it should be in your
program files\devnz\gbpvr\ directory. Unless you installed gbpvr somewhere else =)

I had the same problem, so I ended up making my own postprocessing.bat file with "comskip %1". So far it's worked without any problems.

Do you have the xrecord plugin installed? I don't think GBPVR itself has a postprocessing.bat file.

I recently had the same problem. The only thing I did was to download Comskip from the wiki and re-install it over the Comskip I had installed from the Sage forums. The files appeared to be identical though. I added the play_nice_start and play_nice_end options in the middle of the config file rather than at the end and now everything works well.

Thanks for the replies.

I don't seem to have the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log file. I don't know why not if it is supposed to be part of the software.

I am not a programmer, so I have no idea how to create my own postprocessing.bat file. I think I will just try to install the XRECORD plugin and modify the postprocessing.bat file like I've seen to do in other posts. Hopefully that will solve my problem.

Thanks again. I'll report back.....

I installed XRECORD and it had the postprocessing.bat file with it.

This is what is in the postprocessing.bat file:
comskip %1
rectracker %1 > rectracker.log

With the comskip %1 that should initiate the comskip file, right?

The gbpvrrecordingservice.exe file now is in my gbpvr folder. Don't know why it wasn't there before. I searched and it wasn't found.

So I recorded a couple of shows, and when I open the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe file, it shows that the postprocessing thread was started and it was running on the first show I recorded. The .txt file does not show up in the recorded show folder.

The second show I recorded, the postprocessing thread was not started???

The other problem I am having is that when I play back a recorded show, supposedly you are to press the blue button on the Hauppauge remote and the OSD is supposed to appear giving a status bar. I don't get anything when I press the blue button. I do when I am watching Live TV, but nothing on recorded shows.

Where do I go from here?

Bucko,
I don't have the "play_nice_start" and "play_nice_end" options in the comskip.ini file that was unzipped. So moving them from the end to the middle as suggested doesn't make sense to me. Do I just type in these commands, and if so, does it matter where I type them?
