Continue watching

Kodi has just added an new feature which I would really like to see in UI clients.  The way I would like to see it work is hitting play on a main level folder (text or icon) play would start at the next unwatched show in my list in s/e order.

s2e1 watched
s2e2 watched
s2e3 unwatched (play from start) or partially watched (automatically play from resume point)
s2e4 unwatched 

Its not Netflix but it can still be useful for users like me who are weeks behind.

It probably wouldn't be too hard to add something like this.

Sub, bumping this for when you have a chance to look at it. It probably would need S/E order to work, not sure what play would do without it if there are multiple episodes.

My 2 cents (about all it's worth) lol.
How about another page like "What's New", rather it shows "Next Up".
(Actually I'd like to have a custom page where I define the query).

What defines Next Up?

Ideally I could see What's New working like Kodi so when you click play on the What's New list item, it starts on the next unwatched show in that series. Watch would still need to launch that show for testing quality?

Emby has Currently Watching and Next Up. (2 sections)
Currently watching is anything you haven't completed. Next Up would be the next show in the series if you completed the previous show.

From the recordings screen in date descending order, if sub implements continue watching on the outer item that I requested isn't that Next Up?

Currently watched or last watched as discussed here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid580688 would be OK but typically I am currently watching one of the last 12 recorded series anyway so it isn't that many keystrokes and sub doesn't have to do an new screen. Maybe date descending could factor in the resume position with the recorded date and make it the same.

A sort by "Last Watched" option would cover what I need (and probably not need a new screen layout)

I don't want it added to the sort, I already have too many issues hitting Stop when I don't mean it and adding another option will make it worse.

I wouldn't mind promoting active series (based on the playback position) to the top of the list when the active date is greater than other recorded dates even if the series has unwatched episode to allow binge watching like Netflix.
