Not Finding Devices

I just installed the latest version of V6 but it will not find my tuner device, a Hauppauge DCR-3250 Triple Tuner that has served me well operating with NextPVR V4. In fact V4 operates perfectly on the same machine running Win11.

HDHomeRun-Setup also does not fine the Hauppauge device but HDHomeRun VIEW shows a perfect picture. Is this to be expected? Is there a setting I missed?

Hope someone can help.

Is v4 still installed? If the v4 recording service is stopped, does it make a difference to discovering the device?

From the program folder what do you get with this command?

DeviceHostWindows.exe -discover

V4 is installed and uses port 8866, V6 uses port 8867. Stopping V4 NextPVR Recording Service has no effect on scanning devices.

Is that an HDHR tuner or your Hauppauge device?

That is the HDHR-based Hauppauge DCR-3250 cable card triple tuner. My other Hauppauge tuner is an HDPVR2 on USB.

Do you have a firewall or Internet suite blocking UDP to/from NextPVR? If so maybe turn it off and restart the server to see if UDP discovery is working.

The dreaded 'F' word: Firewall. A large topic and not my strong suit. About all I could find concerning your question was found in "Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security." I've attached a screenshot of what I believe could be relevant information.

That's all I can offer for now. I'd need to spend quite a lot of time to figure out how Windows firewalls work. Know any users who might want to help?
