Hi all,

Here in the UK, some programs transmitted during the night include an overlay of someone signing for the benefit of viewers with hearing impediments.  If I have a recurring recording set and the same program is transmitted at say 3:00am and 7:00pm the same day then NPVR records the 3:00am one which may have the signing overlay.  Is there any way to set NPVR to record the later one?

Thanks,
Stanno

Does the daily this time slot type not do that from the web or UI clients including NextPVR.exe? If not what do you have in this config.xml setting?

<TimeSlotMinutes>90</TimeSlotMinutes>

Hi Martin, thanks for responding.

I have had this particular recurring recording (set via the Windows client and the schedule) in place since September with the following settings:
<StartTime>2022-09-05T17:40:00.0000000Z</StartTime>
<EndTime>2022-09-05T18:20:00.0000000Z</EndTime>
<PrePadding>4</PrePadding>
<PostPadding>4</PostPadding>

I also have the <TimeSlotMinutes> set to 90.

The actual evening broadcasts have been bewteen 17:15 and 18:00 and on every occasion where there has been a transmission of the same show around 3:00am that day, that is the one that has been scheduled. The upcoming episode where it's recording the early one is scheduled for 3:10am and 17:25 so could the fact that the start time is before the start time in the recurring recording be a factor?

The logs tell us much more information but if there is not an exact match the logic is different.

PS : The series is "As Time Goes By" and the relevant entries in nrecord.log start at 2022-12-20 02:58:34.960

That seems to be a guide based recording not a timeslot recording.

I switched from WMC to NPVR in 2017 and have never arrowed past the recording option "Record season, all episodes" so I didn't know that there was a separate type of recording for "timeslot".....

That works like a dream, exactly what I want.

Martin, very many thanks for pointing me (once again) in the right direction.
