Hello,

I have NextPVR v6.1.1.221106 installed, running under Windows 10 Pro x64 v22H2, with Mozilla Firefox x64 v108.0.1, configured as the default browser, both for the OS and for NextPVR.

I have attached my log files for your information.

Installation was apparently successful, I was able to open the NextPVR Desktop client successfully, and Live TV also played successfully.

However, if I open the NextPVR bookmark in Firefox, choose something from the Guide, and then choose "Watch Now," nothing happens, not even that message about starting the device, etc.

Besides the Windows built-in CODECs, I also have installed the LAV filters from NevCariel, v0.77.1, obtained with great difficulty, because for some unknown reason, both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers blocked the downloads, stating the a virus had been detected, and there was no possibility of overriding the block, and regardless of what I did, including turning absolutely everything off in Windows Security, disabling SmartScreen both in Edge and in Windows Security itself, it was impossible to download using either of these browsers, but I had no problem downloading through Firefox, which is why Firefox is now my default browser. (I've been searching for the site where I found a piece of advice that the NevCariel LAV Filters were especially recommended for NextPVR. I'm 100% sure that I've read it somewhere in the dim, distant past, and I think it could either be somewhere in these forums, or on the NextPVR website, but my search has been in vain. I seem to remember reading in that article that these LAV Filters were preferable to the filters on the Codec Guide website, and I preferred them anywa, mainly because my default media player is VLC, and I have never liked using the media player that is installed with the Codec Guide filters, and which cannot be prevented from installing.

The installation proceeded without any difficulty, (all Real-Time protections were disabled), and all the CODECs were installed, including the H.264 CODEC, which actually required a supplementary download during the installation procedure.  All the CODECs and filters have been left at their defaults: I haven't changed a single thing. However, whilst the NextPVR Desktop Client is working perfectly well, it simply refuses to work through the Firefox browser, even though I have allowed every Firefox permission I could possibly find that might have stopped the page from working.

I can't think of anything more to add, except that my system is a Gigabyte AMD Aorus Elite B450 AM4 Motherboard, AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU (this particular model has no built-in Graphics Support), 64GB of DDR4 2600 RAM, and an AMD WX3200 Graphics Card with 4GB DDR4 RAM, and which has 4 Mini-Display Ports and NO HDMI PORTS. (This is an AMD-Branded Graphics Card, NOT a Gigabyte-Branded AMD Graphics Card).

I would appreciate it very much if someone here would be kind enough to have a look though my log files, and if possible, point me towards a possible solution.

Also, should you require any further information with respect to either my hardware or my software configuration, please reply to this thread, and I'll supply whatever information that I can possibly find.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards to all

You might need to make sure when you moved to Firefox you enabled audio and video for NextPVR streaming. The browser doesn't use your codecs at all. When you do download any codec makes sure you use https and not http since browser don't like http anymore.

Based on the logs you need to wait for this fix in the next version. https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid577011

I am not sure if I understand the contents of that thread you pointed me to...  (see your post as quoted)...  I really have no idea what they are talking about...

Are you saying that the deprecation of http support in all browsers will be fixed in the next release of NextPVR?  Is that what you are actually trying to tell me?

I am saying a few things.

If your browser is not playing a channel you need to make sure that you allow audio and video playback For Firefox that is here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/block-autoplay The logs indicate some channels should play.

There was one instance in the log of playback that failed. You don't have to understand the other thread beyond knowing sub has potentially addressed that problem for the next release of NextPVR. This did not occur every time so focus on your browser settings.

Any discussion about codecs is irrelevant to the playback in the browser. If NextPVR.exe is working your codecs are good.

Ah, OK... Now I understand...
Thank you for your help.
I'm now hanging out for the next release!

Best regards
