Best may to manage satellite channel updates

I'm based in the UK and I assume satellite channels have changed again.

Trying to record on BBC4 I have been getting "no data" received for each attempted recording. I assume that means BBC4 has moved?

On my Freesat box this is dealt with automatically but clearly not on NextPVR.

What is the best way of dealing with this?

How can I get a definitive list of UK channels? How can I get emailed about changes? And what is the best way to manage channells?

I tried to export the channels so that I could edit the list and inport again. But the export format is XML and is not exactly straight forward to edit. I couldn't find any way of exporting to a comma separated file.

Recently I emailed PBS America to ask where they now were located and they couldn't tell me!

I'm using version 4 of NextPVR and haven't upgraded to 5 as I've no idea how complex that is to do?

Sadly too many people wait until there is a problem to consider updating. I expect you may need to rescan but for many of us it has been too long to remember all the steps.

There was an announcement made https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=64494 and you may need to add a new frequency to the tuning file

You will need to change the settings of the 10818V entry to the new S2 settings. King of Sat are very slow making the change to but I got the details from Lyngsat DVB-S2 8PSK 23000 3/4. Instead of scanning all the transponders I create a 28.2-single.ini file with just one transponder data. You will need to start Notepad with Admin rights to edit the file.

I am based in the UK also and have been affected by the change in BBC frequencies.
Using v6.1.1
I cannot receive FreeSat BBC4 HD, the tuner will not find BBC4 HD on Astra 28.2
I cannot find any way to add a single channel manually like I could in v4.
I have looked into the tuning file for DVB-S but not sure how to modify it to cover the new BBC channels.

I also have a problem with the terrestrial tuners, I am on the United Kingdom-Central-Brierley Hill transmitter which before this weekend did not broadcast BBC4 HD
Now my tuner finds BBC4 HD  Freq:586000 SID:18048 but will not play or record any video and I also have the same problem with BBC4.
I cannot find a frequency list for the Freeview channels on this transmitter.

Can anyone help please with either instructions on how to solve this problem, or even better supply updated tuning files for DVB-S Astra 28.2 and DVB-T Central-Brierley Hill.

It would really be appreciated as v6.11. seems to be a bit beyond my experience and ability... Always willing to learn.

Enclosed is my 10818MHZ ini file. It will find 9 BBC channels. There are two BBC Four HD items you want the one with SID 10365!

There is no point me sending my 28.2-West.ini which is what I use for a full scan as it only has 25 transponders for my region.

The enclosed file needs to be copied to C:\Program Files\NextPVR\Data\Tuning\DVB-S

 From Devices select a DVB-S tuner and "Scan Channels"

just tick BBC Four SID 10365 unless you want others!

To replace the entry in your 28.2.ini file you will need to start Notepad with Admin rights!

For v4 users the file would go to C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Tuning\DVB-S

Thanks @jcjefferies for the 0282-single file it worked for me as a single
I will try to combine it into my 28.2.ini file tomorrow and see if it still works.

Thanks to jcjefferies single file and the information from the LyngSat website I have updated the installed DVB-S 282.2 tuning .ini file with the latest frequencies.
I have tested each added frequency as a single line and then added it into a new 282.2-New.ini file.
This new compilation seems to work OK for me.
If anyone feels the need to use it you can unzip it and paste it into "C:\Program Files\NextPVR\data\tuning\DVB-S"
Start or restart NextPVR Web App and the select Scan, the new file will be listed as 28.2E (6th Feb 2023) next to the original 282.2 in the list.

If I understand it correctly the BBC is continuing to role out more changes as more of the local stations are moved to HD. Some of my regional recordings failed late last week.

Am I understanding it correctly that the file listed above tells NextPVR which frequencies to scan for UK 28.2?

Is there an equivalent file for channels? When I export my channel listings it is in XML format that is not exactly easy to modify. Is there a simpler version without all the XML syntax?
