There is no easy way! You have to scan the transponders and delete the channels you dont want!! However a better way is to create a copy of 282.ini and delete the transponders that have no channels YOU want! My local regional ini file lists only 25 transponders instead 282.ini which has around 105 transponders. At this time there is no up to date ini file available that covers recent BBC changes plus the changes the next two Mondays. The best help is at the web page listed is post 3 of my Freesat Disruption post which lists the frequency of each Freesat Channel and is updated every day at the moment.

BBC4 Channel Change: If you're getting a "no data" message when attempting to record on BBC4, it's possible that the channel has indeed changed its frequency or some other aspect that affects reception. Channels can change frequencies due to various technical and regulatory reasons. To resolve this, you might need to perform a channel scan or update your channel lineup in NextPVR to reflect the new settings for BBC4. If your Freesat box is handling this automatically, it could be worth investigating how it's managing these updates.

Definitive List of UK Channels: You can find a definitive list of UK channels, along with their frequencies and other relevant information, on websites like Freeview, Freesat, or Digital UK. These websites often provide updated channel listings and information about any changes.

Notifications about Changes: Websites like Freeview and Freesat usually provide information about channel changes on their official websites. You can also sign up for newsletters or notifications from these platforms to receive updates about any changes in the channel lineup.

@sub Would it be possible to have an option when scanning channels that only pre-existing channels would be updated? That way we wouldn't have to keep going back to delete all the unwanted channels.

It's not so obvious, but if you do a scan and don't hit save, it does still update existing channels (assuming their sid/tsid/onid don't change). ie, things like channel names, or tuning etc can be updated this way.

That's good to know but is it true on non Windows?   I thought you needed to hit Save to update/merge the conf files.

That's great, thanks! As a refugee from SageTV I miss the plugin that automatically updated your Freesat channels on Astra 28.2 from kingofsat.net each night.
