I followed all the instructions on how to get my channels from my HDHomerun. But when I review the guide, only a few items showed up and the rest of the column was blank. So what did I do wrong?

Nothing welcome to OTA EPG. Here are some alternatives for the US and Canada https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/EPG.NorthAmerica HDHR users can use the HDHRGuide utility noted there for pretty good data.

Yeah the OTA guide is pretty much useless in the North America. They only transmit a few hours of listings.
Many other countries transmit a week of listings.

I would perfer to use an EPG that transmits at least a week worth of listings. But since we have that out of the way, why didn't mine do that, and how can I correct it to give me a weeks worth of listings.
Thanks

In the US, TV stations are only required to transmit a few hours of OTA TV listings, so that is all that most them transmit. This is obviously all NextPVR can get from these stations over the air. This is useless for a PVR, which needs to be able to provide a more full featured TV guide, and be able to plan ahead for recording shows etc. In that part of the world, people typically resort to using another a source other than OTA for their listings. Most people there get a Schedules Direct account (which is pretty damn cheap, and give great extras like artwork, season/episode info and duplicate detection). Otherwise there is options like zap2xml etc.

Many people would prefer a week for free, but Schedules Direct is still worth it for the higher quality data and art compared to OTA.
I don't know what was wrong with the list of alternative I gave you but maybe re-read it. Martin |
