When I try to enter a punctuation character in the Name field for a Manual Recording, other characters are displayed.  I don't think logs are needed since it doesn't get to the server.  I was trying to use a single quote, but most other punctuation characters are incorrect, as well.  If I wanted to use double quotes in the name, I could use the Page Down key since it produces a double quote.  I tried other keys, but none of them produce a single quote.

If you pick Search on the main menu and type characters in the search field, it behaves the same as the manual recording name field. I also checked the manual recording name field in uiclient.html and it has the same issue.

Yeah, I know why it is. I spent a bit of time looking at it this morning. A little complicated to fix.

I'm trying to decide if I'm going allow for punctuation or ignore those keystrokes entirely (basically forcing you into letters/numbers/spaces).

My IR Blaster wasn't working and one of the channels that I cannot record with a CableCard tuner has "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia". The most recent episode did not record since my blaster didn't turn on the STB and change the channel. So, I was using the on demand feature of my STB to "watch" that episode and manually record it with NPVR. The name of the show didn't match the other episodes.

I spent part of today fixing the blaster.

The friendly name you enter would have to be unlinked from the filename to allow reserved characters and passing variables to the scripts so I can see the issues.
