My recording setup involves using a Hauppauge HDPVR2 to record DRM channels from my settop box. Works well. The problem I have is that NextPVR does not import DRM channels when setting up a new HDPVR2, even though NextPVR can "tune" DRM channels using its infrared driver to change the settop box's channel. I have discovered no way to assign DRM channels to the HDPVR2 other than a tedious manual operation of manipulating the database directly. V4 did allow manual channel additions quite easily.

Is there a way to manually add a channel to a V6 device? Any suggestions?

That's not the case. It'll import whatever channels are in the XMLTV file or SchedulesDirect LineUp that you tell it to import. It has no idea if any of the channels have DRM or not.

ie, I'd double check you're importing the correct guide source for your channels.

Works fine here with DRM. To re-add just untick all with the top check box and tick the ones you want to add.

Something is not right. After I clear the current channels from the device and rescan using the SD lineup for the Guide, DRM channels are not shown. Is the lineup wrong? Is there a way I can see what SD's lineup looks like?

Yeah, I'm guessing it's the wrong lineup. You can probably log into https://www.schedulesdirect.org/account and add a lineup, then click the 'edit' button to see the list of channels.

Note, the lineups added/edit/removed from their website make no difference to the lineups in NextPVR. (those website lineups are only really used by the SD xmltv grabber application)

OK. I went to the SD site, logged in and previewed a different lineup than the one I'm currently using. The DRM channels were all listed. I then previewed the lineup I've always used and *that one* also listed the DRM channels! So I kept the original lineup and then checked what the DCR-3250 is reporting in it's channel lineup. All the DRM channels were listed.

Another rescan produced the same results. No DRMs to assign.

I've attached the logs just after the rescan. I'm hoping you can find something.

If you want to PM me the zip code and a lineup name, and an example of a few channels that are missing, I'll check it here. Maybe SD have screwed something up with one of their json lineups somehow.

There is no code in there to filter out channels though, so all your channels should be there. It has no idea if any of those channels have DRM, so it's definitely not filtering out DRM channels.

It might not be SD, the HDHR won't have these channels, are you looking at the wrong device?

Code:
2023-08-20 17:39:16.455    [DEBUG][5]    Skipping DRM channel: 53 - FX East
2023-08-20 17:39:16.455    [DEBUG][5]    Skipping DRM channel: 83 - Fox Sports 1
2023-08-20 17:39:16.455    [DEBUG][5]    Skipping DRM channel: 84 - Fox Sports 2

Yeah - HDHR definitely skips DRM channels, since it can't decode them. With an HDHR, the channel list comes from the device (not from Schedules Direct).

Hauppauge HDPVR2 mentioned in your original post wont skip the DRM channels though. With an HDPVR2, the channel list comes from your Schedules Direct lineup.
