Kodi TV Menu Screen

I've attached a .jpg screen shot of a Kodi Matrix screen about which I have question. The row of cards below the "Recently played channels" title shows three cards a with blue line at the bottom of the card. The line's length varies.

What does this blue line mean? I can find no explanation in any of the Kodi documents I know of.

PS: Twice I've tried to attach the zipped .jpg file by using drag-and-drop. I get a green check mark at 2.6MB but the file doesn't show in preview. Too big? I hope it's posted.

It is a percentage bar, for previous Live TV channels it shows the current show indicating the percentage that was in the past. The same info is on each show in the channel view.

Useful or eye candy hard to say.

I ask because I'm puzzled why watching live TV on my wireless tablet, simultaneously with watching the same show on my main TV, the lag between the two is so erratic: Sometimes main lags tablet, other times tablet lags main, sometimes they are spot on. Considering they are fed from a single cable outlet, is there a relatively simple explanation why this occurs? My observation is that when the percentage bar is longer, the tablet lag behind the main TV is larger. Can buffering be involved?

This is more of a curiosity question than a problem question. I appreciate your indulgence.

I am not going to bother and look at the the Kodi core code but many infotag skin updates in Kodi are not dynamic, they are on timers. I would never expect every Kodi instance to look the same. I would expect if you watch a channel and exit they would all refresh.
