Following up the discussion started in Kodi Forum:

OP :

I'm using NextPVR among 2 kodi devices. I would like to disable or hide all related record/timer functions in LiveTV in one of them.

Is it possible? Did not see it in GUI. Maybe in editing a file?

Thanks, I made some changes for you to test which should work in Omega v21 and v22 Hopefully one of these packages will work for on the platform for your client https://jenkins.kodi.tv/blue/organizatio.../artifacts

Sub has talked about adding some user roles but that is a low priority enhancement and this should help until then.

Works very well. In expert view is perfect. I like the idea that it does not interfere with Kodi's global timer function.

Will this package be pushed via official channel or will it remains as manual setup?

Thanks Martin.

Great, did you install it on your own system to make sure it doesn't impact typical use?

It is an official PR, that is why it is on Jenkins, so once sub pushes it then it will get normal distribution. However I am waiting for sub's response here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid590840 before requesting that he push it. I don't like users and LE/CE to have to download updates too often. I do want to get it before the split of Omega though.

Martin.

Installed it on my own setup first since it aleady has some set timers & records.
When "LiveTV only" enabled, it hides what it should
When "LiveTV only" disabled (default), all comes back.

Tested also on clean setup.
All seems good.

Any other test I can do?

Thanks for testing. I also added an option to disable timers and still watch recordings (with Live TV mode off).

I was contemplating allow viewing recordings without allowing recording deletes but I didn't want to make it too complicated when no one has asked for it. I was thinking a picklist of choices.

Full Access (default)
No recording or timer access
No timer access
No recording delete or timer access

One thing I like about NPVR is its simplicity.

I think those options are good, since they're located in expert view, so one knows (usually) why going there.

For some people that do not want to mess with recordings, those are nice options.

My 2 cents.

Martin, did you decide if you want to go with the version discussed above?

Also, if you want to test something in Kodi, I have Winx64 and armv7 platforms to play with.

I have changed it from two settings to one with the list box, basically with everything the Kodi lets me control, still playing with the wording. I have also changed it so the client will only poll the server when timers and recordings are enabled. I haven't fully addressed the recording timeslot issue yet
