I am running a windows 11 vm in proxmox and I have a WinTV-HVR-955Q passed through to the vm. The tuner shows up in web client but when I try to scan for channels it goes through the process but never finds any channels. Anyone know how to fix this?

First why not install Linux if you are trying a VM. Windows 11 would be overkill as a PVR server. Since you are using Windows install WinTV and see if it works. Assuming your VM is passing through all the required components check the antenna and eliminate any splitters.

You only need to scan 2-36 to save some scan time

From past experience, many USB/PCI TV tuners don't function entirely correctly in a VM. Some work, but not so well, and others don't work at all.

I'm using windows because I want to easily get the EPG support for tv schedules. I tried to install WinTV but it doesn't seem to see the device and stops the install. It shows up in device manager and I have the drivers installed. I've used it on my windows laptop before and it worked no problem.

If WinTV doesn't work then NextPVR likely won't work (previous version of WinTV where by sub) and the same BDA drivers. Linux uses different drivers which is why I suggested it.

The upcoming v7 of NextPVR has OTA ATSC EPG on all platforms.
